| ARTRA BIM SOLUTION Although BIM has
been accepted as being beneficial to the AEC construction process,
it is not yet being put into practice at a significant pace (fig
1.). The majority of the (UK) market is still working with Level
1 processes, although the best in class have experienced significant
benefits by moving to Level 2 and using object based discipline
models for collaborative working and construction analysis (4D).
ArtrA uses level 1&2 CAD data and enriches it for level 3
processes such as construction management, asset lifecycle management
and FM. ArtrA is the only asset lifecycle management application
in the world currently capable of delivering level 3 iBIMs.
BIM INFORMATION IN A SQL DATABASE At the core of a BIM is the INFORMATION it contains about the asset, which is usually held by the originating CAD/BIM application. With ArtrA the information is held in a SQL database where it can be managed and manipulated more readily with the advantage that;
ENRICHING 3D MODELS WITH BIM INFORMATION ArtrA has the unique capability of adding information to the BIM without using CAD, and converting unintelligent 3D models into intelligent BIMs. This can be achieved through various procedures including 'Room-Based BIMs'.
DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION & LIFECYCLE ArtrA contributes to the processes during the three main project phases as follows:
ARTRA DURING DESIGN PHASE
AEC BIMS ArtrA is a true Building Information Model (BIM) application. It is a database management system with a graphical front end, and the only BIM solution that handles interoperable information from multiple disciplines throughout the design, construction and asset lifecycle management phases of AEC projects.
