ArtrA will open NWD and NWF files and does not use a bespoke file format. If Navisworks has been used for Design Review, all saved views or red-line mark-ups etc. will come through into ArtrA if desired. ArtrA's graphical interface is easy to use and navigate through the models even on tablet PC's with a pen.

It
is necessary for a 3D asset lifecycle system to be CAD independent
because most projects will incorporate models from multiple disciplines
that have been created by a number of stakeholders using different
CAD applications. The Navisworks Active-X engine gives ArtrA the
capability of opening a wide range of models from various sources
and bringing them together into a single environment as the graphical
