The UK Government has produced a new report detailing construction strategy for the future:
http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/sites/default/files/resources/Government-Construction-Strategy.pdf
The report specifies that all government work will require a full 3D BIM "with all project and asset
information, documentation and data being electronic as a minimum by 2016" .
A separate BIM strategy paper has also been commissioned by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills with Artra Ltd listed as part of the workstream group:

Automatic NDT Data Entry
Artra teams up with Advanced NDT Testing to provide a link between the TG110-DL thickness testing
device and the Artra system. It is now possible to use this product to test the thickness of
critical systems in a plant and have the data automatically populate the Artra database,
cutting down on the risk of human input errors.
This combined with the barcode referencing system, on the Motion F5v tablet PC, significantly reduces the problem of incorrect
data entry and allows all current knowledge to be shared using a 3D model as a reference point.

ArtrA
is used on prestigious City Scape Project in Phoenix, Arizona.
By implementing the ArtrA system it allowed
Hunt Construction group to deliver a BIM model to the owner/operators
FM staff. The BIM model aided the project handover by linking
as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, documentation
and commissioning FM data to pieces of equipment in the 3D model.

Artra below:
