3D Models used for Information Access
Many owner-operators
have been unable to use the 3-D model as a central point to access
information. Previous solutions had three
limitations: 1) they were not cost effective; 2) they were not easy to
implement; and, 3) they were not easy to use.
The owner-operator can now manage all plant information without
the financial and administrative burden associated with CAD systems.
ArtrA gives the owner-operator the opportunity to manage all plant
information easily and cost effectively. The 3-D model can then be
used as the central point to link and access any documentation to items
in the 3-D model. Any linked data can also be searched quickly and easily
to provide critical information that would not be readily available in other
formats.
Project Coordination & Review 3D Asset Management
Any data can be assigned to any object or group of objects in the 3D Model.
This data can be updated on site or back in the main office as required.
A powerful search tool can be used to the find relative data and have the
results sent to a report writer. For example, all necessary data from the
corrosion inspection team can be linked to the as-built 3D model along with
generated reports and relevant documentation for future reference.
Artra Uses
The possible uses and applications of ArtrA are far reaching and vary from
plant to plant and department to department. Some of the specific applications
include monitoring corrosion degradation, site snagging information and reporting,
streamlined communication of design/review information, more efficient processing
and documenting of work orders, and training for disaster response.
In summary, ArtrA is cost-effective, easy to implement and easy to use.
It is a tool available to owner-operators to decrease costs and increase
efficiency to yield higher returns on investment. This type of technology can
be implemented quickly in small phases focused on immediate needs with minimal costs.
Some of ArtrA's clients that have taken advantage of this system are British Gas Subsea,
NPower for corrosion monitoring, Skanska for site management and snagging,
through to handover of all documentation to their owner operator.
